Canaan Project
Our mission is to provide where there is no provision
Canaan Project has a history of providing for young people in areas where there is no existing youth work. Each week we open the doors of the Teviot Centre in the heart of Tower Hamlets in East London. We’ve engaged with over 200 young people in the last year and regularly see more than 70 through our doors on a single evening.
100% of young peole visiting us say they feel safe in our club
To develop genuine releationships with young people based on ‘being with’ them as opposed to ‘working on’ them
We depend on talented volunteers to build relationships with young people and act as positive role models.
This might be an IT consultant modelling ‘work life’ or a dad of two being ‘father’ to the fatherless
The strong relationships young people build with mature, responsible and caring adults is essential in the work we do
To provide opportunities for young people to develop aspirations and the resources to achieve them.
We share real life experiences with young people to help expose their potential and encourage them to reflect on their life journey.
We’ve delivered workshops on creative writing, cooking, filmmaking and photography and run residential activity breaks to help build confidence and self esteem.
To establish a sustainable work
