A Day At Abbey Road, sponsored by SEG (UK)
Every year, Community Albums will spend a day at the world famous Abbey Road Studios. Made famous by The Beatles, it has seen many top acts, including Michael Jackson, Oasis, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Take That, U2, Elbow, Kate Nash and The Killers.
It is also the home of one of the biggest Orchestral sound stages in the UK. Movie scores that have been recorded there include Star Wars, Spiderman, Harry Potter and Lord Of The Rings.
An original song will be chosen from all those that have been uploaded to Community Albums. During the day a record will be made, overseen by producers Rob May & Simon Hill, who have worked with many top artists including, Westlife, Natasha Bedingfield and Alesha Dixon.
Film makers from one of our communities will be invited to make a documentary of the day.
Other high achievers from across the site will be invited to take part as musicians, engineers and photographers.
"We're really excited at the potential of making a record with Community Albums. As well as looking for talent, we're after people who have done something different or special during the year", said Simon.
"Our aim is to work with people from as many different communities as we can – we’ll be using musicians from all over the world to contribute via the 'Collaborate' feature on the site, as well as those who can be at Abbey Road on the day, in person", added Rob.
No dates have been confirmed yet, but keep an eye out as we will announce more details shortly.
