In 2019 we ran sessions at Bonny Down's Community Association, summer scheme, 'Go Wild'.

The young people wanted to tackle knife crime. They had all been affected personally in one way or another, and wanted their say.

 

They wanted it to stop and all talked about their experiences, some first hand.

The wrote, performed and produced a song and video called Darkness Into Light. The video was premiered at The Well in East Ham, attended by friends, families and distinguished guests.

The Rt Hon Stephen Timms MP, said of the project: ‘This is an important project as it allows young people to articulate their hopes and fears around the issues of knife crime and youth violence. As well as giving them a platform to speak, it’s important we listen to their insight and wisdom as we look to tackle the problem together.’
